What do you all think about what reggie bush is doing, and being late for training camp. I personally think first pick or not he deserves AT LEAST the same amount of money mario williams got. He may not have been the first pick but he is going to contribute to his team like one.

Thoughts?

Regardless of whether he thinks he is being lowballed or not, he should come to camp. Same for any player. No player should holdout over their contract.

^^^ Ernie Sims is the Lions rook.

I think he needs to get his ass in camp. I hate when rookies hold out.

I feel there should be a rule put in that states any rookie that holds out when camp starts will be suspended. Maybe the first 2-3 games of the season. I can't stand when a rookie holds out. I don't know why but I hate it. There gonna be a millionaire weather they get 10 mill or 55 mill.

Don't suspend them. The lack of work and $14,000-a-day fines are enough. Look what happened to Cedric Benson last season. He doesn't play good until mid-way thru the season.

I dont have a HUGE problem with rookies holding out because when you think about it, they dont know how they are going to fair in the league so they might as well try to get their money while they can. The NFL is the only league where your contract is not guaranteed (I seriously think they need to change that) and thats why they always have holdouts and not just for rookies. As far as Reggie Bush goes, his teammates dont have a huge problem with him holding out because he was at all the off-season workouts so they know that hes commited to the team and this is just business. Anytime a team leader like Joe Horn comes out and publically states that he doesnt blame Bush then I say its ok with me too. Think about it, they are only going to hurt themselves the longer they stay out anyways.

I agree with everything you are saying. Why should they go to camp and they don't have a contract? They are working for someone and don't even know if they will get paid or not.

I disagree. Be pissed over no contract. But you're only hurting yourself by not going to camp. You don't get the work in, and you have to play catch-up the entire season. The non-gaurenteed contracts are the best part of the NFL. You have to earn your money.

How will you earn money that you don't HAVE to get. That's why you holdout, get your contract then you go to work.

There's no point of taking any chances.

I disagree. You play catch-up the entire season after it's over. Just look at Cedric Benson last year.

That was after he finished playing catch-up.
