Richard Hamilton. He's a pure midrange shooter who's amazing at coming off screens & his speed & footwork are also top-notch. He's also a great defender too. Michael Redd's obviously the better three-point shooter out of the two, but to me, he's mostly an offensive-minded guy. Take away his shooting touch from the outside & everywhere else on the floor & he won't give you anything else to admire. His rebounding & assist averages are weak & he's not a great NBA defender by any means necessary. Also, he may be the cornerstone of the franchise, but unless he gets other teammates involved, his leadership quality still needs work. He's just a straight up sharpshooter while Rip Hamilton can give you much more.

Huh!!?!?! Rip is the straight up sharpshooter. What type of defense has rip showed? He gets kilt by any player he checks, but its just allowed to happen because he's going to give whoever checks him buckets. Rip hasn't had to show any D while he's been in Detroit. He's had Ben, Rasheed, and Tay to back him up as soon as he gets burnt. (same case for chauncey) Redd is a better defender and he can handle the ball better. Redd is going to go to the rack probably if not more, at least as much as rip because he can handle the ball. When rip puts the ball on the floor it makes me want to get nervous. And if you think the rip gets to the line from driving to the basket then you're sadly mistaken my friend. Rip gets to line as much because guys foul him because they can't keep up with him on those screens. Redd is the better all around player and no maybe redd doesn't pass enough but he's the go to guy. When you have probably 3 out of 4 guys on your starting lineup that can go somewhere else and be the man you would probably pass more like rip as well.
