Shaq is still a dominant force. He's not the most dominant guy in the game like he used to be, but b/c he's so big and strong, he'll win over Yao.

DTP

Yao is just too weak to battle downlow with Shaq or almost any other center. But he did play much bigger and stronger in the second part of last season if him and T-mac can stay healthy hmm that might be pretty nice down there but still Shaq is prolly the better player just because he gets away with all the elbows and all that shit and usually out weighs his opponent by over 200 pounds.

Depending on the type of game you like, that's how you decide who you want in this matchup. Yao has a great shooting ability, and Shaq has the ability to get to the hoop almost at will. So they both are pretty much equal, because as C's their only jobs are scoring whatever much, and rebounding, and both do that. Also, in blocking Shaq avgs maybe just 1 more block p/game. But since all of you are into strength, Shaq has the definite edge on that as he can get to the basket at will.

If Yao was as big as Shaq, he'd dominate. Shaq's size is what allows him to be good. If you were to go by raw skill, there are a bunch of players better than Shaq. I'm not saying he doesn't have the raw skills, I'm just saying his size is what has made him so dominant, b/c he can just use it to bully everyone and get into position.
