Philadelphia Inquirer - Going to training camp for his hometown team, the Philadelphia 76ers , is a dream come true for the undrafted Steven Smith, even if he doesn't have a guaranteed contract.
"I think I've showed everybody that I can play and that I'm not a slouch," Smith said yesterday after the Sixers finished their second day of training camp at Palau Sant Jordi Annex. "I had a lot of [NBA] people tell me that I had a great summer. "It's unfortunate that I still don't have a deal yet, but I'm not letting that get me down because I love to play. Basketball is basketball to me, and I'm glad to be here. It's a great opportunity, and once I get in here, I'm going to do whatever it takes, do my part to help us succeed." |
