Press Release - Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that the team has signed free agent forward/center Alan Henderson to a contract. King also announced that the team has signed rookie free agent forward Ivan McFarlin. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

?Both of these guys will add depth to our front court," said King. "Alan will provide us with additional experience and leadership on our bench, while Ivan earned a spot on this team with his hard work and rebounding this summer.?

?I'm really excited about joining the Philadelphia 76ers ," said Henderson. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work with the coaching staff and the team in order to help the organization achieve our goals.?

Undrafted by an NBA franchise, McFarlin played professionally in France last season. In 34 games for JSF Nanterre, he averaged 16.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.50 steals per game while shooting 59.5 percent from the field.

He's only going to come in for a little bit of D and about 5 rebs per game so they could've signed any PF/C, they're all the same.

The 76ers will still suck no matter what. Having an aging AI (who I really can't stand), a slightly improved but not so great as he was in Sacramento Chris Webber, the one-dimensional three-point specialist Kyle Korver, high-flying Andre Iguodala, & defensive hack Samuel Dalembert's definitely not going to give you an NBA championship. The bench's also probably one of the weaker ones in the NBA right now too. The only way this team can move forward's if they trade Mr. ballhog The Answer for a quality PG who puts the team first & a low-post scoring C or if they traded Chris Webber for a player a la Richard Jefferson. They'll always slip in the 4th quarter & that's why they'll never win a lot of games which leads to not making the NBA playoffs.

This was a long time ago, but I still think he was a good trade.
