That's the good thing about Kentucky. You don't have to deal with the snow. It was actually funny to watch people's reactions, down here, to an ice storm. They were stocking up like it was Y2K.

Store bought attitude and spit,
a sugar coated piece of shit, an instant rebel just add greed, another useless commodity. Broken glass and a broken jaw, lies are told in a southern drawl, poor-house poverty's your shtick, the real thing would kill you quick. |

I came back from bowling and came down Lakeshore Dr S of Grand Haven. Came around the corner and I saw brown and antlers, I slammed on the brakes, his ass was hanging out in my lane. Missed him. We have deer down here too. See em dead along side of the road. i will be up near Houghton and Higgins Lake in a couple weeks looking for those brown things.

S-N-O-W AND D-E-E-R!!!!
The first snow of the season is falling tonight up yonder and with that brings out those cute, adorable, beautiful brown dumb-ass deer. Sorry if any of you are PETA members or anything like that, but these things are nothing but a nuisance up north. It seems like snow drives them insane immediately and they act worse than normal. I almost hit three, on three seperate occasions tonight, in just a 10-mile radius. I don't think you guys run into this much downstate.......but they sure tick me off. Oh...and the snow upsets me too. It's only the 2nd of November, for God's sake........................ *sorry...just needed to vent. I feel much better now...thanks!* ![]() |

I almost hit a deer once, and it's on I-275!! It just came suddenly from the right side, went to the right side lane so I had to swerve left and get out of the lane and I was at 70 mph. I was lucky not to hit it nor got hit by any vehicle behind me or totally lost control and rollover.
I'm not too excited about the early snow either.

I remember riding down the road, and a buck came out of nowhere and hit the passenger side window, shattering it. It just so happened that I had just let my window up, not a minute before. My face would have been marred.

I've never encountered a deer, but I know we have them over here. My brother hit one a few years ago and smashed up the front of his jeep pretty bad. And don't even get me started on snow.... I hate it I hate it I hate it! We tend to get more over because of the lake. Scraping ice off your windshield with that little scraper in the freezing cold is one of the worst things in the world.

I didn't mean that you guys didn't encounter deer anywhere else, it just seems like they are EVERYWHERE the further north you get, which makes sense if you think about it.
It's that right at dusk thing that really screws with your eyes and that's of course when they are out the most. I hit a huge deer last winter, right after we had just gotten our "newer" car, of course. It was at night and had just started snowing, so luckily I wasn't going that fast to begin with. She came out of nowhere and I hit her square on, right in the middle of the front end, as she was darting across the road. I had my kids with me and got really shook up because THEY got really shook up. My four year old said, "Mom...why was there a deer flying up in the sky?", as she's crying. Anyways.....snow and deer suck. Deer are pretty and all that, but there's a reason we have hunting season...... Hey, KirkHinrich......I'll top you one on unpredictable weather. This past June during my daughter's little league game, it started out as a beautiful 75 degrees. Well, the fields are down right on Lake Huron and the wind switched, immediately sending it down to 52 degrees in about 5 minutes. I here ya, Kristin, on the lake thing. Doesn't is screw everything up?? "Lake effect snow" really peeves me off!!! Grrr..... |

I think I seen a deer once and thats when we were on the highway and it was on the grass no where really near the highway. I don't run into deers too much around here but now that i'm starting to drive I got to be more careful because there are a few around here. And Michigan weather isn't so predictable either, I mean I went to school in shorts one day came out with a big ass fur coat and hat and all that because it was snowing. Only place in the world when you can see sunlight, rain, snow, and hail in the same hour.

Isn't there a saying that goes something like, "If you're in Michigan and don't like the weather.....wait 5 minutes, it'll change."
I might have gotten it wrong, but that's pretty much the way it goes. |
