My car (R.I.P.) has had oil issues forever. For the last few months, the "Check Oil" light would pop on every week or two. When it happened I would just dump a new quart of oil in and not worry about why the light turned on so much. Sometimes when the light would turn on, I would even procrastinate dumping oil in until I felt like it. I'm too cool to take care of my car, to be honest.
I recently drove it for about 2 weeks with the light on. Friday afternoon my car locked up right on Rochester road, everything went nuts, and I coasted up a curb and almost into another car. I got it towed to a shop and this morning I found out the verdict. Locked up engine block. Completely shot. 2800 bucks to fix, probably more than the car is worth. Great. I sold it for 70 dollars to the carshop's salvage yard and tomorrow I am walking to work. Take care of your car!

You sure you didn't get takin for a sucker? They prob bought your car for $70..fixed what was REALLY wrong with it..and put it up for sale.
My uncle is a mechanic and he does that all the time and is always braggin about it..he's an asshole. I do the same thing with Oil though. I usually dump 2 quarts in and overfil it so I don't have to worry about it for a while though.
