Ex-Star Brandin Knight Hired As Pitt Program Assistant

AP - Former Pitt point guard Brandin Knight has joined Panthers coach Jamie Dixon's staff as program assistant and video coordinator.

Knight won't have the title of assistant coach, but will work with assistant coaches Mike Rice, Pat Sandle and Orlando Antigua and director of operations David Cox. Among Knight's duties will be monitoring the players' academic progress.

Knight played at Pitt from 1999-2003, leading the turnaround that saw the Panthers go from having a string of losing seasons to winning two Big East regular season title in 2001-02 and 2002-03.

After leaving Pitt, Knight played two seasons in the National Basketball Developmental League and signed with the Houston Rockets . He did not play in the NBA after getting injured in training camp.
