Best at recruiting - Coach K

Best at coaching - Izzo

Best at recruiting but just average coach - Self

Greatest class with a losing record - Williams

Who offers more cash incentives - Sampson & Matta

Donovan is another great coach that just keeps recruits coming in and seems to get it done with guys I have never heard of.

I really liked Missouri's coach Quinn and he protected his players and was as active as any on the sidelines but got into trouble so I have no idea where he is headed.

Coach Knight had a piss poor attitude but a top 5 on my list as great coaches.

Weber is going to be a legend at Illinois and offers just enough of everything to excel.

I disagree partially. Izzo isn't the best coaching in my opinion. I like donovan as the best coaching. (defintely in preparing and strategizing) If you payed attention izzo was coaching like he didn't want certain players to leave. Like take last year when msu went to the final four as an example. Izzo was playing ager like he didn't want him to leave early. Ager would get hot and then he would take him out. He is a good coach but just selfish.

Izzo is great at coach but probably better at motivating and preparation. His teams usually always do good in the tourney, like they overacheive. He just gets alot out of his players. I think he does more with less.

Other than that, IDK anything else about CBB coaches. I don't even watch that much altho I don't even know what Coach K does. I think it's just tradition/pride that keeps Duke at the top.

I'll have to disagree with K being the best recruiter. As much as it pains me, I'll have to give that title to Roy Williams, with Thad Matta making a very strong push at it.

I agree that Coach K is the best at recruting because if you look at Dukes roster for the upcoming season they always have 4 or 5 of the top players in the country. They got Gerald Henderson this year and that guy is a beast. But at the second spot is Roy Williams at UNC without a doubt. They got Brandan Wright, Alex Stephenson, Tywon Lawson, and Wayne Ellington and they have a couple more.

The thing about Duke's recruiting is that Coach K doesn't have to work that hard. When you look at top schools Duke is automatic on MOST people's list. So more so the recruiting for duke comes from reputation and that they're always successful.

Well part of successful recruting is building a good program so you can attract people to it, isn't it?? You've got to go out and scout and do your homework, but of course it's going to be easier to get top talents if you have a program that wins every year. And if what you're saying is the case, why didn't Greg Oden commit to Duke, and why isn't O.J. Mayo commiting??

Just because you have one of the best programs in the nation doesn't mean you're going to get EVERY recruit. Recruits don't always pick schools upon success. Maybe they don't like that traditional style of program. The point is they always get top players in the nation because of how the program was started, and that they have always been successful. If you're being recruited by Duke you don't have to be explained the whole program, people already know what your program is about. So just because Duke doesn't get EVERY prospect doesn't knock them off at all.
