I am a big Illini fan and even though we have a great class coming in I would like to know how all these other teams are getting the recruits they do.
I can see Duke and even though I dislike them coach K has a great reputation, Self is great at recruiting but not a coach to win the title. Roy is Roy and will always be a good coach but he has to be close to moving on and Izzo is about the money and may be leaving sooner than we all think as he is not getting the recruits right now for a reason. Matta must be throwing cash around faster than Ohio can give it to him and Sampson is not too far behind him but doesn't have the funding yet. What are your thoughts? |

It's gotta be Duke. Every year they lose quality players and it seems like they repace them instantly with more top players in the country. They just need a year where all of the players are peeking at he same time instead to pull something out.

I could be a homer and pick the Illini, but I won't
That being said, I think LSU and Florida are the most likely to win the title. My sleeper will be the Buckeyes. Man, if they can win the national title in football AND basketball 3 months apart, that would be fucking amazing. |

Ohio State is already looking very good with two 5-star commits, C Kosta Koufos and SG Evan Turner. Duke has got commits from 5-star SG Nolan Smith and 4-star SF Taylor King. Michigan State's another team that already has a great class, with two 5-star guards in Kalin Lucas and Chris Allen.
Kansas State has a commitment from the 4th best player in the class, PF Michael Beasley, and they have a chance to assemble the best recruiting class ever. O.J. Mayo (#1), Bill Walker (#2), and Herb Pope (#10) all have K-State either 1st or 2nd on their lists. I think they land Mayo and Walker, giving them the best class hands down.

The thing is a lot of those recruits won't be playing next year. Kalin lucas isn't playing for state till 2008. Beaslet isn't playing next year either. And I don't know too much about the other players. ![]()
