The San Antonio Spurs added another piece to their roster Thursday night by Acquiring Forward Luke Jackson from the Boston Celtics. The Spurs sent Guard Mardy Collins along with veteran Forwards Melvin Ely and Aaron Williams along with a 2008 2nd round draft pick to acquire Jackson.
San Antonio Spurs GM spoke Thursday about the deal. Luke is another guy who can come in and knock down open shots and hopefully help boost our bench scoring up a little bit. He"s young and inexperienced but we feel that he can maybe come in and knock down some open shots for us off our bench in about 14-15 minutes every night and that will help us a lot with our bench scoring.
Jackson played 42 games this season and averaged 3.4ppg this season in 18mpg for the Boston Celtics but the Spurs are hopeful with the attention O'Neal, Duncan, and Parker will attract Jackson will be left open to knock down some open shots and like DTP said boost up that bench scoring.
