Sacramento (AP) - Today the Sacramento Kings open up their season playing eight games in ten days. This off-season the Kings were busy moving players around. Sacramento sent Ron Artest to Cleveland for Larry Hughes, Daniel Gibson, Shannon Brown, and David Wesley (Artest was later trade to the L.A. Clippers). The Kings also accquired PF Marvin Williams from the Hawks for Shareef-Adbur Rahim. Their last trade of the off-season involved a lot of role players as they recieved Robert Horry, Michael Finley, Steve Blake, and Fabricio Oberto from the Spurs while sending them Maurice Taylor, David Wesley, Daniel Gibson, and Vitaly Potapenko.

Captains Mike Bibby and Brad Miller remain on the team and are going to have to carry a lot of the offense while newcomer Larry Hughes gets used to the sytem and the young players develop chemistry with the rest of the team. The pre-season has came and past and the Kings went 7-10. Not overly bad, but not good either. This team is playing in a good division where you're going to need to be over .500 to make it to the playoffs most likely. By mid-season if this team is going to have to be playing great basketball if they want to make a playoff run, otherwise they'll be at home watching the playoffs.

Sacramento's active 12 has been set for the start of the season and these are the players who will be suiting up on opening night:

Centers - Brad Miller* and Fabricio Oberto
Guards - Larry Hughes, Quincy Douby, Mike Bibby*, Steve Blake, Jason Hart
Fowards - Michael Finley, Kenny Thomas, Marvin Williams, Kevin Martin, Robert Horry
IR: Shannon Brown, Toni Kukoc, and Corliss Williamson
