I'll have both rounds done by Saturday, but I'll be doing 5 at a time for now.
1. Denver Nuggets - Greg Oden 7'0 C - It's no surprise Denver will choose Oden. They've been hoping to get Oden from the last year's draft but he decided to stay at Ohio State for another year. Oden, along with that young core in Denver could be something special. 2. Utah Jazz - Yi Jianlian 7'0 C - After making the NBA Finals, the Jazz have the second pick of the draft. They basically need everything if you're factoring in age, but if you didn't this would be a wise pick regardless if they resign Dirk or not. 3. Dallas Mavericks - Marco Belinelli 6'6 SG - With Belinelli's height, ball handling abilities, and shooting abilities the Mavericks could use someone like this. They could play him behind Terry, Hughes and AK for a season or two then let him start somewhere. 4. Boston Celtics - Josh McRoberts 6'10 PF - Power forward is their biggest hole right now. With Foye and Green in the backcourt, then Melo at the small forward, and Okur playing center, yes McRoberts is a wise choice. 5. Orlando Magic - Kevin Durant 6'10 SF - I do this with no confidence in who I just picked. I have no clue what he needs, but just in-case he's not able to resign Dwight Howard, a few position rotations and he's good to go. 6. New York Knicks - Luka Bogdanovic 6'9 SF - I could see New York trading up to get a better pick to select McRoberts or Jianlian. If they don't do that, Luka could be there for them to take. A few trades would probably follow behind that of course. 7. Orlando Magic - J.R. Giddens 6'5 SG - Once again, not confident with this. They really don't need much but I guess another shooting guard to play behind Dwayne Wade. 8. Indiana Pacers - Corey Brewer 6'8 SG - If they decide not to take a point guard, which they could do, I see them selecting a shooting guard. Brewer may take a few seasons to develop but he might be worth it. 9. New Orleans Hornets - Alando Tucker 6'5 SG - There are much better players out there but they need a shooting guard badly IMO. Tucker might be able to produce in this system playing aside Chris Paul. 10. Denver Nuggets - Ekene Ibekwe 6'9 PF - I think they'll trade this pick, but if they don't Ibekwe might be a "safe" pick. I have a feeling they're going to be making a lot of moves before/on draft day so we'll see what happens. 11. New Jersey Nets - Marcus Vinicuis 6'9 SF - Other than Ming and Boozer they had viturally no scoring, especially on the perimeter. Vinicuis could provide scoring at the SF or SG, whereever they use him. 12. Toronto Raptors - Kyle Visser 6'11 C - After trading away O'Neal, they're probably going to be in need for another big man sometime soon. Visser could give them some valuable minutes even as a rookie. 13. New Jersey Nets - Viktor Keirou 6'6 SG - This would be a risky pick I think but also the right move. Unless they make trades or their guards have impressive training camps, or they decide to move Marcus Williams to the shooting guard they don't really have anyone to handle the ball. Keirou could do a little ball handling when he's out there. 14. Toronto Raptors - Tim Ohlbrecht 6'11 SF - Rating wise, he's just as good as Durant *laughs*. Ok, anyways the Raptors could use another versatile big man. Either that or a guard, but there are plenty of solid guards in the free agency pool. 15. Golden State Warriors - Juan Palacios 6'8 SF - Move Richardson back to shooting guard, then draft Palacios. It may take a few seasons for him to develop but he might be worth the wait. Pick's 16 through 20 coming sometime later today.
