Round 2 Eastern Conference:
#1 Orlando Magic vs. #4 Washington Wizards Season Stats: PPG: Magic 104.6 Wizards 100.5 OPPG: Magic 92.8 Wizards 94.9 APG: Magic 24.0 Wizards 24.3 TPG: Magic 16.6 Wizards 14.1 SPG: Magic 9.8 Wizards 8.3 RPG: Magic 53.5 Wizards 51.4 BPG: Magic 6.1 Wizards 5.6 FG%: Magic 45.7% Wizards 44.0% Season Series: Day 6: Magic @ Wizards Magic 98 Wizards 90 Day 17: Magic @ Wizards Wizards 126 Magic 113 Day 93: Wizards @ Magic Wizards 96 Magic 93 Day 103: Wizards @ Magic Magic 111 Wizards 104 Player Matchups: Center Magic: Dwight Howard 6'11 240 15.0 PPG/11.7 RPG/1.2 BPG/2.5 TPG/45% FG Wizards: Brendan Haywood 7’0 263 9.7 PPG/8.3 RPG/1.7 BPG/2.2 TPG/47% FG Breakdown/Advantage: Howard is definitely the best player in this matchup, but the big question is will Haywood’s lack of defensive ability give way to Howard’s scoring ability? Time will tell in this series and matchup. Player Matchups: Power Forward Magic: Chris Bosh 6'10 210 17.2 PPG/9.3 RPG/1.6 BPG/2.3 TPG/41% FG Wizards: Antwan Jamison 6’9 235 19.9 PPG/9.9 RPG/0.6 BPG/2.2 TPG/41$ FG Breakdown/Advantage: This, along with the matchup of SG’s are the best ones to watch. These two players both have a ton of ability and I don’t think either one has a clear cut advantage in the matchup. Jamison is relied on to score the Wizards, but Bosh is not relied on as a scorer in Orlando. Jamison’s experience may overcome Bosh’s youth in this series, or vice versa. It all depends if Jamison can keep up with the Magic’s fast paced offense. Player Matchups: Small Forward Magic: Caron Butler 6'7 217 13.8 PPG/5.4 RPG/1.2 SPG/1.4 TPG/48% FG Magic: Andre Iguodala 6’6 207 17.7 PPG/6.5 RPG/1.5 SPG/2.3 TPG/42% FG Wizards: Trevor Humphries 6’10 240 17.1 PPG/6.6 RPG/0.8 SPG/1.6 TPG/46% FG Breakdown/Advantage: This is an interesting matchup for many different reasons. After talking to the Magic GM he still has not decided who will get the start in Round 2 at SF, but it is not a major deal as they will both great virtually equal playing time. Humphries was a diamond in the rough mid round selection in the draft. He’s a nice player but with his size and lack of defense, the Magic’s SF are most likely going to take advantage of fast breaking on Humphries and isolating Humphries with his horrific defense. Expect to see the Magic SF’s score big in this series. Player Matchups: Shooting Guard Magic: Dwyane Wade 6'4 212 24.4 PPG/6.5 RPG/5.0 APG/1.9 SPG/3.2 TPG/50% FG Wizards: Gilbert Arenas 6’4 210 23.0 PPG/7.0 RPG/4.5 APG/1.7 SPG/2.2 TPG/46% FG Breakdown/Advantage: In my opinion this is the matchup of the playoffs so far. 2 of the best young SG’s in the league go head to head in this series. They are both so impressive scoring, but the difference in this matchup is the slighty better defense of Wade. Just like the PF’s I don’t think there is an obvious choice here. Player Matchups: Point Guard Magic: Allen Iverson 6'0 165 15.7 PPG/5.4 RPG/8.7 APG/1.9 SPG/3.3 TPG/47% FG Wizards: Raymond Felton 6’1 198 9.2 PPG/6.0 RPG/8.1 APG/2.1 SPG/3.2 APG/40% FG Breakdown/Advantage: This is a matchup of youth vs. an experienced all star. Iverson at 31 years old is one of the best point guards in the league by far. Washington has the Rookie of the Year in Raymond Felton as their starting point guard. Felton is the future of this team, and is a potential star but at the time being, he will be nowhere near scoring like Iverson. Iverson has picked up his handling lately, dishing out 11 APG in the playoffs, which makes him virtually unstoppable. Even after saying that, look for Felton to hang tough with Iverson and give him a great matchup. Player Matchups: Bench Magic: The Magic have the BEST bench in the league, no doubt. If you look at the player coming of the bench in Orlando its shocking. They have either Andre Iguodala or Caron Butler, Nazr Mohammad, Al Jefferson, and Devin Harris coming off the bench. All 4 of those guys are starter material and beyond. Iguodala and Harris are future stars on this team as well. Pistons: Wizards don’t have great depth, but their bench is average at best. This is the main reason that the Magic will pick up the temp of the game, which is a huge disadvantage to the Wizards team. They do have a talented SG in Daniels coming off the bench who just won the 6th man of the year award, scoring 9 ppg off of the bench. But after that, theres not too much talent . Prediction: Magic in 5 Breakdown: The Orlando Magic have the most talent, but that is something that they will have no matter who the opponent they face in the playoffs is this year. They struggled a bit against the Wizards in the regular season, but the Magic’s team has changed a bit. The Wizards are hitting their prime at the right time of the season, but I just don’t think they can keep up with the Magic throughout a whole game. My prediction is Orlando winning in 5, and the single loss coming on the road. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the series go to 6 games though, Wizards deserve a lot of respect with how well they have been playing. |

I don't know about in 5, maybe 6 possibly 7. It all depends on how Felton does, because Jamison, Arenas, and Humphries are going to get theres.

If Washington had a big man I think they'd somehow win this series but because they don't I think Howard and Bosh are just going to have a field day on Washington's bigs and win it in about 6 or 7.
