Rumors are since the Spurs can’t find a scoring shooting guard they’re considering moving Shaq or Artest to bring in more scoring. The Spurs have struggled to score for some odd reason this season, only averaging 91ppg as a team. With Shaq, Duncan, Parker, and Artest you would think scoring would be the last problem but for some reason this team has struggled to put points on the board. Most of the scoring problems have come from the Shooting guard position and the bench, Luke Jackson, Flip Murray, Viktor Khryapa, Pete Charles, and now Nik Caner-Medley have all struggled to provide the team with needed scoring as of backup or starter and if the Spurs can’t make a deal soon to bring in a scoring shooting guard Artest or Shaq could be shipped out soon.

With the play of rookie Center Nick Fazekas it makes it more likely that Shaq is the one to go if either was to be traded and it has been make clear that DTP is not looking at all to trade Fazekas. However Fazekas was mentioned in a deal with Artest and others to be packaged in a deal that would send Vince Carter or Paul Pierce to the Alomo City. If Artest is not moved in a deal he’ll have to put up similar numbers to last year because 12ppg will not get it done but each month his scoring slowly does increase as Shaq’s numbers decreases. We’ll see in the next few days what happens but don’t be surprised if Paul Pierce is wearing a Spurs uniform very soon.
