Shaq in his prime was the 1# most dominant player in the league ,now im not so sure if he is even in the top 15 players. He is averaging a career low 14 points and 7 rebounds ,and is beginning to look like 1988 Kareem Abdul Jabbar ,when Kareem was on his last legs. The difference is Kareem was 41 at the time ,and Shaq is 35.

If we're judging him by how he is performing just this season then no he isn't. Probably not even a top 30 at this point, just off of this season.

Shaq is done. I think he needs to give it up, he's got his rings with two different teams. He proved that he'd win a championshp before Kobe would. Retire...he's washed up now.

Right now Shaq relies heavily on Wade and the supporting cast to get him and the team through the season. In the playoffs is where he steps up his game. He just isnt in the type of condition to play at a high consistent level for a full season anymore.

I agree. There's no point of him stressing hiself out over this dying league (unless stern gets out and they get a loyal commish).

I was watching the Heat- Rockets game and he was very effective around the post. Seems unstoppable until he hurt his knee. It all depends on how he gets back. Webber was great till he injured his knees, he's not the same Webber anymore.

Yea, then it doesn't help that he (and shaq) are getting old. It's hard to continue to take injuries and play ball at the age they are.

This is all true, I know all these injuries to the body has to take toll on the players. Shaq won't be able to walk anymore when he's 50. He better quit now while he's ahead and rich.

A lifetime of sports takes it toll, no matter what sport it is. 35 is an age that most sportsmen have to quit. How many boxers can go beyond 35? Not many. They don't have the stamina the young ones have, and their body is hurting from too many injuries.

I know Shaq will hate to quit, but he's got alot of other great things he can do.

How long has Shaq been playing? I know it has been awhile, but I am not sure how many years.

Because in any sport the knees is the most important body part. You use it to jump and walk it is probably most fatal spot to injure whatever sport you play and once you injure them its over for your career.
