Thumbs up

Allot of people are saying that the Suns are going to be favorites in the west when Amare can play, and if he is healthy I may agree. but I have said that that kind of injury can have an Impact on the rest of a players
career, and is VERY hard to rehabilitate.

"Amare Stoudemire's trip to Italy with the Phoenix Suns is being plagued by knee problems.

Associated Press

Knee problems continue to slow Stoudemire
By Jerry Brown, Tribune
October 5, 2006
Amar? Stoudemire's up-and-down comeback from two knee surgeries hit another sour note Thursday when he was unable to practice when the Phoenix Suns arrived in Rome to prepare for Friday's exhibition game against Virtus Lottomatica Roma.

Stoudemire sat out a practice Monday in Treviso and missed two days of voluntary workouts in Phoenix two weeks ago because of pain in his right knee, which he had minor surgery on in March.

But an NBA source said that Stoudemire was complaining of soreness in both knees this time, the first time he's talked about problems with the left knee ?- which underwent microfracture surgery on Oct. 15 of last year ? in more than a month.

Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni said he didn't have any specifics on Stoudemire's condition, other than to say he sat out because of knee soreness.

"He said he was stiff and he couldn't go," D'Antoni said. "I don't know if the plane flight (from Treviso to Rome) had an effect or not. We're not going to push things at this point."

D'Antoni said he would have started Kurt Thomas at center and Boris Diaw at power forward in the exhibition game whether or not Stoudemire had practiced Thursday, but now is unsure if Stoudemire will play at all in Rome.

"We'll see what things look like (Friday) morning," he said. "

Well I hope so, because he is one of the most exciting players to come along in a long time. even though he plays for the Suns (one of our arch rivals) he is one of the best low post players I have ever seen. Dont get me wrong, I have no ill-will for Amare, but that kind of knee injury is deastating. B)

It depens on his start...but I think that he is preparing to be ready for the Playoffs...I think that Nash can't still playing at that GREAT Level more than 2 years so....I think they got this and next year to win the ring

Yes I agree. All great players (and teams) have only a small window of time to get it done. Dirk, KG, Nash etc. may see thier window starting to close, but the good thing about Amare is that he is still young.

It all depends on how fast he heals. Remember that first game against Portland when he tried to make a comeback? I remember it because he scored 20 points & ripped down 9 caroms. Who suspected him to make numbers like that with limited minutes? If Amare can do that, than I'm sure that after having a full summer of rest that he'll somehow return to his good ol's self. He might not be as explosive from the start, but it'll come back to him eventually. I hope so because he's like the cream of the crop among PFs. There aren't a lot of them (other than the Big Ticket) who're very athletic, but yet, has a lot of intensity & dominant presence in his post play.

I don't think he'll be what he once was, b/c Chris Webber and Jason Kidd had microfracture surgery as well, and they haven't returned to the level they played at before the injury.

I dont think Amare wll ever be the same player. He will have been out basically 2 straight years. I dont think there is any way he will be as explosive as before. He is going to have to develop better go to moves,to get by with less athletisism.

Yeah I wish him well but I think he will realy struggle to play at the same level before he was hurt. ;)
