SI.com - Yao Ming is unhappy with the progress the national team of China has made over the past few years, even going so far as publicly criticizing the leadership.

"As the 2008 Olympics are drawing near, we should send abroad the likes of Yi Jianlian and Wang Shipeng as soon as possible in a bid to raise our level in the short term," Yao said. "Even if our basketballers fail to play as regulars, we still could benefit at least from their training. I played as a substitute 10 minutes per game initially, too. It depends on your will and work."

What a coincidence. Yao Ming gets all upset about China's progress the same way as how everyone here & throughout the US is upset about how he's not a dominant big guy who plays with brute strength & uses his long length to his advantage like he should be. I'm sorry, but a guy who stands 7'5'' at 310 pounds who can't average over 11 rebounds a game's pathetic. Almost every All-Star center in the league destroys Yao in the paint & he has shooting guards like Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, and many more dunk all over him. He may be a good free throw shooter & he has a decent midrange shot, but he's a disgrace to all centers who wish that they could be as tall as he is so that they can be more dominant.
