New York Post - Ron Artest criticized the selection process of USA basketball on Saturday evening.
"They didn't even give me a chance to represent them," Artest said before the All-Star Classic for Wheelchair Charities at the Garden. "I was one of like 10 players in the league that came out and said I want to play, and they didn't even give me a chance to play." |

I think this might be another problem with the team making committee. They request all the superstars to come and play and when they get like only 3, they stop searching. Guys like Joe Johnson aren't as experienced as Artest, though they can contribute, but not as much as Artest. Against the foreign people, I think his defensive abilities might come in handy.

He's not good enough for what?!?!?!!? He's arguably the best defender in the NBA. Not the Euroleague or any other weak leagues. The best league in the world!!! He's not good enough but Bruce Bowen and Shan Battier are?!?!?!

We're not talking about who made the team he's saying he didn't even get a chance to make the team. That is ridiculous. It doesn't matter whether or not bowen made the cut they still gave him a chance. Artest is one of the best small fowards in the game and he didn't even get invited. That's ridiculous. Bowen or Battier are not better players than him and they both got a shot. There's no excuse why you don't give Artest a chance, espically when he ask to be invited.

I think that Artest is a he!! of as player, a little bit crazy maybe, but they should have given him a look, that's for sure. I wanted the Mavs to get him when he was a F/A because the guy can play some D, but the Kings got to him first and look how he turned that team around. Team USA should try to find players that have good Basketball fundamental skills, and leave the SHOW BOATS at home. that is why we keep getting our butts kicked every time. B) |

That's garbage. There's no reason why you invite Bowen over Artest. Espically when the better player asks to play. When you need D!!!!
