Denver Post - Larry Brown has declined an offer to coach NBADL expansion team, the Colorado 14ers, this week, according to the Denver Post.

Gary Hunter, Broomfield Sports president and CEO, said Wednesday that he offered the expansion team's head coaching job to Brown this week. While Brown sounded intrigued, Hunter said he turned down the opportunity.

"Ninety percent of the conversation was about mutual friends and family," Hunter said. "He just indicated that he thought it would be a good opportunity for two reasons. He loves Colorado and he loves to develop basketball players."

Brown was fired in June by the New York Knicks a year after signing a $50 million contract.

"Under the circumstances, he decided he better spend some more time with his family before deciding about his future," Hunter said. "He said money is no object."

It looks like teams are starting to see that larry brown isn't a nba coach ANYMORE. They see that he is more of a developing players coach and that's why I believe that he would be good in college.

i don't think that;s it. I bet 25 of the 30 NBA teams in the league would hire him in a second if they were they were getting 3-5 years with him.

I don't think HE wants what goes along with the NBA anymore.

I wouldn't go back to coaching yet either. I'd spend some of the money from NY and go island hopping with his wife.

Larry Brown is not a good coach, period. College or NBA. He's old school, he can't control his players, and he tries to make them players they aren't. I think if he went back to college, he'd ruin players with great potential. I don't think Kobe, LeBron, Wade, or Melo would be where they are today if Larry Brown had been their high school or college coach
