Sure he did try for the ball. He even got a piece of it if I remember correctly.

There are ten fouls a game where people don't go for the ball though. Look at Hack a Shaq and Hack a Ben..they don't go for the ball..yet that's OK I guess. Ben got mugged in the Heat series everytime he touched the ball.

he didnt get the ball...he basically punched shaq in the face and in the chest.....hack a shaq is just wrapping him up...not throwing him to the ground. Its a suspension that had to be given based on previous suspensions in the series. Sorry...hes just a bench player anyway.

Let's not exaggerate the foul. No one is disputing whether it was hard or not, but it wasn't big enough for a suspension in the NBA finals, with a series tied!!! Anybodyelse notice that Stack did have his hand go for the ball even with all that contact? Hopefully somone can post a video of it. They really could've used Stack when they called Dirk for that BS foul call to send the game to overtime. Atleast Stack would've sent D-Wade's ass to the ground...
