Who are your top picks for the Beijing Olympics basketball events?

Men - United States

What teams do you think will win this summer?

In basketball, i guest EEUU will win, because i guest they are the best. What I am not sure what would happen if usa team palyed agains an european selection team.

That would be more fare.

¿what do you think that would happen?

(Gasol, Yao-Ming, Nowitzki, Kirilenko, gonibilli... ect)

USA men and women.

They both will be challenged and the men will need to hit the 3 more consistently since other teams will slow it down and pack it in after the men were exposed in the early part of the China game.

Coach K remarked that the US 3pt% is not a concern because these are guys that are gonna hit eventually. So they'll keep bombing away and he seemed confident they will start hitting. The catch and shoot isnt that typical for a lot of these guys who normally have to work for the shot.

All of europe vs the us? China isnt europe, neither is argentina.
The NBA players all have the same problems with the international basketball rules. The games wouldnt be close if the games were on the same rules and calls of the NBA. Illegal picks, defensive 3 seconds, illegal defense, goaltending, the 3 pt line, techincal fouls, length of the game, offensive foul calls, hooking, hand checking. Greece is a medal contender and wouldnt even be in the hunt if they called illegal picks.

USA Womens will win for sure. They have been dominating their competition more than the men have.
I pick both USA teams to get gold.

First; yes, Argentina and China aren´t in Europe

. Let´s change those player for , for example, the playmaker of Grecia and any other good pivot of any european country. And the end of the olympic game i will present you a european team

and I continue the disscusion after the fantastic basketball that USA made agains Spain.It was a impressive example of very good % of 3point shoots and phisical skills.

about the nba rules, I see your point about the nba rules, but I really don´t mean in a single mach. I mean, let´s imagine that in both places would play with the same rules (nevermind which one), that they are used to play with that rules.Once the one that change get used, I think it would be close. I really think that is not fare compare USA team (300 mill population?) versus Spain, Grecia, Italia, Rusia TEAM (around 40 mill population).And I really think
that picking players of all the european teams you would make a very nice team, not far away from the USA team.

By the by about the rules in the olimpic games :

there is a rule that USA players very often don´t respect and referee very seldom punish it: the walking when you star moving before getting the ball agains the floor (es español, lo que se llama pasos, que es que no se puede dar un paso completo antes de botar el balón.)

¿why basketball is the only one sport that dopping is not controled?
