Who thinks Lebron James could become better than Michael Jordan. No short answers please give reasons for why he could be the new greatest of all time or not.

He has a chance to be... but in order to even be compared with MJ he needs at least 6 rings. Right now he has none, so hes not even close at the moment. Closest one is Kobe but he's yet to win one without shaq.

it's always tough to compare ANY NBA player to michael jordan, possibly the greatest player to ever play the game. however, james is still very young. he's the youngest player to reach 10,000 pts so he's definitely headed on the right track. now he's just gotta win a ring. but he won't be able to while he's stuck in a crap team like the cleveland lebrons. i mean cavaliers

oh come on guys thats the stupidest thing ever "he don't have 6 rings" so what?Kobe has less rings and less mvps but he is A LOT BETTER. Its all about the team. Cleveland didn't have good team. Last years Lakers weren't good to but if they had good team like Jordan they will have more awards.

Simple

I think the one thing holding Lebron back is his inability to make the players around him better. Much better at gettin to the hoop then jordan, but seems out of sync with the finish.

Also the signature move that seperated jordan was the fall away jumper and ability to score with his back to the basket. Its really hard to teach or learn that kind of patience with the power Lebron has. It may be quite awhile till we see someone who can manage the game with such a controlled quality.

Before you remark on Jordan's supporting cast you have to remember every one of the players who were stars on the Bulls went to other teams and were never heard of again.

People forget that lebron is still so young. Lebron needs to develop a jumpshot and a quicker crossover to be the greatest player of all time. he is 6-8 and 250 lbs. He is unstoppable when he gets in the lane. His passing is underrated his team just needs to make their shots. Before he was drafted people actually said he was the next magic johnson because of his size and passing ability. Lebron is also very good defensively. Blocks, steals, he could do it all. Michael Jordan is just in another level. Offensively, Michael Jordan is better. Defensively, Michael Jordan is better. Clutch, Michael Jordan is better. The only thing Lebron has over MJ is size and strength. In ten years, i am expecting lebron to have 3 championships with a decent jumpshot but at the end I think Michael Jordan will still be considered a whole another level.

Kobe is great but A LOT BETTER. I dont think so. Have you seen MJ play. The real MJ, not the MJ who played for wizards. The dominant MJ for the bulls. Kobe has better players around him but cant even win 1 without shaq. MJ has never played with a dominant bigman. Toni Kukoc, Dennis Rodman, Horace Grant, Luc Longley are solid but they are no Shaq,Andrew Bynum and Paul Gasol
Kobe is great and the closest player to be recognized as the next MJ, BUT Michael Jordan is just in another level

well i have seen yes. Jordan has bigger vertical leap(25cm more than kobe and 10cm than lebron), he has some little more awards than kobe(5 more mvps, 1 all-star mvp,Deffensive Player of year, Wins gold medal with USA™, 3 nba champion) 11 awards. Kobe

kobe is close to jordan yeah but for me its better. Jordan is only better dunker. needs 1 def. player of year to be equal, now he can win gold medal on the olympics, 1 all-star mvp will not be hard for him in the new season.

I respect your opinion. I can see where you are going. Michael Jordan's career is over. Kobe is still going strong. Kobe will get a gold medal. He will win probably 2-3 championships and might get another season MVP award before his career is over. I just dont think kobe is there yet. Now that I think about it, Kobe might be offensively better than MJ. He did score 82 in one game. I think kobe just needs to build up his reputation. The thing in denver really hurt his rep. Then he complained about being a laker and complained about andrew bynum which really hurt his rep.

Back to lebron james. He has the potential to be greater than both of them

Lebron for some reason cant get his team involved enough no matter who they get. They seem to get awe struck and stand around sometimes looking a little lost and I just dont get why. He's got good court vision and runs the floor well, but it just isnt there.
I believe he is the most dominate player, but I really feel that the only way he's can achieve something more is gonna be more about finding whatever needs to be done to get the guys around him to respond.

I cant help but not notice.. I tried, but there is no comparison to jordan. Kobe has himself said it mutiple times that he doesnt even want to be compared to jordan. He's had his chance to make good on the prospect of what he could've been. Where he's at now is at a humbling stage of him being kobe bryant. In Kobe's first 2 years he rode the bench and was groomed by the laker organization. Lebron came out of high school and almost hit a triple double in first game vs the nets. Jordan's vertical isnt what made him different it was his ability to float in air it was graceful and effortless. Kobe's moves are forced and abrupt, but without the power of Lebron. Jordan's psychological game was beyond reproach, a very liked well respected player who was one of the biggest trash talkers in the game.

Jordan is not the dunker Kobe is, but since the NBA isnt a dunk contest its hard to compare the two.
