Why not?. There are no rules stating that you have to be playing for an organized league to be eligible for the NBA.

Loydd Daniels made the league from his streetball rep back in the day.

Yep. It’s true. There are some players in the big field that came from the streets. During their college days, they didn’t have the opportunity to join in their schools. Some decide to join in local leagues and street basketball. Out of their abilities, they were discovered and had the chance to be part of the big shot. Rrafer Alston of the Houston rockets, considered as the street ball legend, is one of them. I won't be surprise if more are coming from the streets.

huh? Rafer Alston went to Fresno State and was drafted in the second round. Even though he got exposure from And1 he hardly made it from the street.

Actually Loydd Daniels played college ball to. I don't think anyone has ever made it straight from the streets with out playing any type of organized ball.

Unless shaq on blue chips counts

Rafer Alston played in college. He just got exposure in the streetball business when he played for and1 as Skip To My Lou.

think u need at least some knowledge of organised basketball to get into the NBA. they are hardly going to look at your crossover in a streetball game and think, 'wow, this guy is ace, lets sign him'...

why should they? they got 1000nds of college kids to pick from who have actually got a semi professional track record on which they can be judged, how they handle preasure, work ethic, basketball IQ... why would they want to take the risk with someone who hasn't got that pedigree?

Plus now they got international players who have solid fundamentals, and have played team basketball since the were a featus... so yea, unless you know someone on the inside, who is cheating on his wife, and who you can blackmail into giving you a summerleague spot where u dazzle the world, don't quit the day job;-)!
