Default Change in Uniforms!

Ok, you can probably tell I'm a female by starting this post, but I can't to notice how much basketball uniforms have changed over the years.

Remember in the 70's and 80's - the tiny little shorts and tank tops? The shoes were converse high tops (canvass,) and the socks were just plain old striped tube socks?

Now, it's baggy, baggy shorts - similar jerseys, and big old NIKE, fancy shoes.

Bring back the small shorts! (How else will we see some of those disgusting pictures?)

nobody should be able to tell a player how long is shorts should be. If you tell a player to wear short shorts, it sounds a tad bit gay. And so what if a player wears Nikes or Reeboks or Adidas? They are better shoes than converse, even if Nike is made in a sweatshop. And the jerseys arent a big deal. Baggy clothes is what people like, so give the players what they want.

Well, someone is obviously telling players what to wear. Now, it's baggy shorts - but twenty years ago it was tight, tiny shorts.

The girls also wear baggy shorts. I played basketball in high school and I wore the tiny shorts, they weren't uncomfortable.

What if I'm a player and I want to wear the short shorts? I mean, how many women do you know to wear baggy, saggy shorts? Not all of them do in their spare time.

The trend in women's basketball is certainly manish.

I play basketball and it's very uncomfortable if your shorts are not long. I mean I never had any short shorts like they use to wear but I have wore some little shorts in my day, especially back in Jr High (cheap ass school didn't want to buy new ones) and those were pretty uncomfortable.

NBA Players DO NOT have a rule on how short they can be. There is only a rule on how LONG they can be. They cannot be less than 1 inch above the knee.

and its not fair to say the clothes that women basketball players wear are manish. Basketball isnt a feminine sport. If they want to wear short shorts and look hott, than they can play volleyball or tennis.

So, basketball isn't a feminine sport? Why not?

Don't they have special devices to keep that from happening?

Seriously, though - there have been more than a few photos of that kind of thing! Sometimes it comes out of the fly - not down through the leg.

I don't really think of basketball as being masculine or feminine. Now football is masculine, IMO.

Boxing? Some of the girls boxing today are tough, I wouldn't want to fight them - but I still think of boxing as a man's sport.
