In my efforts to bring more DISCUSSIONS to Team Talk, I will now show people how to easily turn an artice into a discussion for other people to talk about it.

TIP ONE

dont post JUST an article- it isnt worth discussing

for example, if all I post is that a player got suspended, it doesnt really encourage discussion. Maybe state your opinion on it afterwards. It makes the thread look much more welcoming.

TIP TWO

dont post an entire article- rephrase it. put in in your own words.

Please- its just like reading the paper. You can read it, but it doesnt seem as if you have a say in whats going on. If there was an article saying "Larry Bird is Now a Head Coach", you shouldnt post a whole artice. ADD A LINK TO IT. Tell people how you feel about it, state your opinion, and ask for others to state theres, or comment yours.

TIP THREE

Dont just say who you think, and post a picture next to it- EXPLAIN YOUR REASONING!

a discussion is NEVER just saying WHAT you think. A discussion is about WHY you think it. It really helps make for a more active conversation, and its much more fun/enjoyable to read.

TIP FOUR

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion- dont get angry just because they have a different point of view

The ability to have an opinion is something that makes America such a great place to live. It is something that people believe in. People died for us to be entitled to our own opinion on things. Lets let each other use that to our advantages.

TIP FIVE

It doesnt have to be an article- an all articles forum makes for a boring day

You dont have to discuss an article. You can post any issue, idea, or anything else that you would like to discuss. The more you post YOUR out takes on things, the more people read your posts and would like to respond. The more YOU discuss, others will.

TIP SIX

Dont post boring stuff- nobody discuss's that

Posting boring things are never needed. An example of that would be a topic such as "Kevin Garnett Forgot to Wear a Tie Today". Who cares about something like that? Discussions never circle boring topics.

TIP SEVEN

Dont be mean- its never a good thing

Dont post hate threads. It gives Hoopstalk a bad image, and doesnt make it look as friendly as we all are here. Hoopstalk is more of an all age group forum, and we dont want a 40 year old arguing with a 10 year old.

TIP EIGHT

Dont post just to post- it makes you look bad

Never just start posting topics just so you can get HoopsBucks to by that Maxim subscription. While it may be tempting, starting posts for no reason is sure to make you look like you want attention. Post things that other people may find useful, or may want to discuss. Dont post something like "Darko got Traded, What do I do with his Jersey?". Once again, nobody cares what you do with it. It wont make our lives any easier wether you burn it, eat it, or donate it to charity.
