Can the Pistons do what they did last year? I honestly think they can because now that Ben is gone, we can go with Flips offensive game plan. And now, the coach isnt arguing with anybody.

I think we're going to miss Ben on the defensive end, but benefit ALOT on the offensive end. Nazr looks nice so far offensive wise, but we need to work on our inside defense. It's still early so no need to panic.

64-18 is a stretch (or was it 68-14?) but they COULD do it if Wallace isn't getting a lot of techs this season. Billups and Hamilton can carry this team to that mark but one of two things will have to happen:

1) They become more of an offensive team and score a little more

or

2) Nazr can do what Ben Wallace did in the middle on defense

I'm predicting a 60-22 season at the best for the Pistons

I like #1, because I just don't think Nazr will do what Ben did on defense. Why? Because that's all Ben did. Nazr spends his energy on the offense end as well. All of Ben's energy went to defense.

Nah, we're not going to have the same record as we had last year. The players were driven to have the best record in the NBA. Seeing how all that went for shit in the playoffs makes the reg. season record less of a priority.

If the refs get it their way tho we'll get 64 of something, and it ain't going to be wins. It'll be Sheed's ejection total by the end of the year.

^At one point, they were on pace to break the 1995-96 Bulls record of 72-10. I was relieved when they lost games 10, 11, and 13 and the Bulls would stay in the books, the record would be there's, and they'd be the only team to win 70. Sorry, but I don't like the Pistons

And most of us don't like the Bulls. Bulls are not even on our level yet, come talk to me once they win a playoffs series.

lol, it's from the rivalry in the 90's that I don't like them. I don't like the Knicks or Pacers b/c of the 90's either

If we keep playing like we did last night?????? Our record will be reversed then from last year. I think they concentrated too much on winning the most games last year and, like someone already said, by the time playoffs came our ass was kicked.
I know it's only the beginning of the season, so I shouldn't panic yet. I didn't get to watch the game last night..on way too late..., but I watched the highlights on ESPN, which basically showed me all I needed to know. Sheed did really well on defense, but what the hell happened to him offensively? NO POINTS?????

It's shit like that that's going to kill us. The bench is looking good, I think. Delfino is doing well, which is good to see. He's doing better than Chauncey right now.

Yes, Dez........I said, DELFINO IS DOING WELL. Still not my favorite, though.

Losing Ben Wallace is going to hurt more than the Pistons are letting on

I LOVE how Maxiell is working hard everytime he touches the floor. IMO everyone is going to eventually play hard like that. Nazr has been pretty quiet, Mcdyess is basically a starter. Why isn't lindsey playing more.. is it because Fli[ wants more offense on the floor? I just would like to see lindsey out there more because I get nervous with FLip running the point. His handles are shaky.

No it won't, Have you seen the kind of numbers are bigs are putting up? Even Jason Maxiell is averaging more points then Ben which is pathetic. The problem has been our defense and all in training camp Flip has said we would play a lot of zone so we practiced it in preseason played it very well and then in the first 5 games didn't see it at all but last night we saw it and they played it very well and I think we'll go back to it a lot. In the 3 losses they played no defense and loss, so aslong as they continue to play defense the Pistons will be alright. I still pick us to finish 1st in the Division with Cleveland finishing 2nd and Chicago finishing 3rd.

I agree, DTP.....it was very nice to see them play like that last night. The Lakers were looking a little befuddled. We need to do that every single game. Overall, I think everyone played well. Tay was awesome!

I agree, Jason Maxiell, a guy that doesn't even play as much minutes as Ben did is putting up better numbers than Ben. He works hard and that's my favorite part about him because he's an undersized post player and he knows it so to fix that he works hard. He's going to be VERY good in the future and I was suprised that he was going to get these kind of minutes early.

I wouldn't be suprised if we finished 2nd behind Cleveland, if we finish 1st then I think it will be close.
