Dupree Signing To Open Things Up For Delfino Deal?

Grand Rapids Press - The Ronald Dupree signing by the Pistons on Monday has fueled talk that the club could be in on a sign-and-trade deal for Al Harrington.

Dupree may give the Pistons another athletic player off the bench in case they deal Carlos Delfino.

Fair opportunity my ass. Harrington is a potential (not sure if he has already been one) all-star. That's life in the nba sometimes you just aren't able to get a fair opportunity.

I dont know if I want Harrington, I dont like the idea of going small ball you know starting him at PF and Sheed at C. If Harrington can come off the bench and play PF/SF then I would be fine with it but he wants to start and I dont like the idea of starting small like that.

I don't think joe d is going to lead harrington on to thinking he will be starting. I think it just comes down to whether or not harrington makes the decision that he is ready to put money behind him and just try to win a ring. ;)

I think its pretty clear that Delfino is on his way out, so I'd like to get something for him before its too late.

Delfino can be an all star himself too, you know. It's not like we gave him the opportunity to show it. I've seen some good things out of him and I want to take a chance on him. Harrington doesn't strike me as a guy who's going to break down the D and penetrate. I'm not sure if Delfino is like that, but I have seen the out of him a couple of times and I'd rather take my chance on him.

BTW, Joe D was on the Stoney and Wojo show yesterday and ofcourse, he denied it. You'd expect that out of him, but his reason was because Harrington makes 10 million a year to Delfino's 1. Salaries don't match. He also said that he wanted Delfino to play, so I don't think this may end up going down.

I don't think it will go down either, but if we are trying to win a championship then I would get harrington. Harrington is a guy that has already proved hiself. I think delfino has potential, but why would you risk giving up harrington for a guy that you haven't seen reach his highest limit. We have been looking for guys who can score off the bench, and it wouldn't make any sense to pass a guy like this up (at least if you are trying to win immediately).

^^Because, we're already championship caliber anyway. I don't buy this talk that we're 5th best in the east and crap. Miami would be the only team better than us and they don't intimidate me at all. Also, if things go well with Delfino, he can stay around. I just have that much comfidence in him.
