There's been talk that we might be gettin C-Web. What do you guys think about this addition? I've also heard Flip Murray for Jalen. That would be nice if the pistons were able to bring them both in.

There were even talks of Mo Peterson (Michigan State). But Nah, I'd rather have Rip than Richardson.

Yea, I also heard Mo Pete.. Personally I would like to see Flip Murray for Jalen and for them to get C-Webb in here. I think we would be really set if we were able to get both of them in because of our depth. The only thing I worry about is I think that Flip (the coach) would stop giving these young guys so many minutes like Maxiell and Delfino. Really if we were able to bring them in I would rotate Maxiell, Delfino, Rose, and Mohammed off that bench. Hopefully Lindsey will be back shortly until then we would have to stick with Blacklock and Jalen would have to play a little of the point. Great rotation if we were able to bring them in.. just a thought.

They might have to trade Nazr for Juwan Howard tho.
Flip and Dale for Mo Pete, HAHA Flip and Dale as in Chip and Dale. Maybe add Delfino in seeing toronto likes internationals and Toronto can add something else to Mo like a 2nd rd pick. |

I think Webber would be great here, being he's a local boy and all. Getting rid of Rip is not going to happen. While Flip M. had a good two last games or so, he just doesn't seem to fit in Detroit, for some reason. I've heard rumors of Dyess possibly getting traded in the deal involving Webber. That makes me kinda ill and not just because he's my favorite player. I think Dyess will step it up for us soon, but I guess it's all a business and that's the way it goes. Hopefully when Chauncey comes back we'll get back to normal.

That would be absolutely insane to add Delfino to a Flip and Dale trade to get Mo Pete. I dont see them letting Delfino go anywhere because Joe really likes his upside. The deal I heard was Dale and Dyess for Mo Pete. We wouldnt have to get rid of anybody to get Webber and Howard can just stay where his is IMO. I think all we need id Webber and maybe Mo-Pete for a little insurance but I wouldnt go messing with the whole team.

What do you guys think will end up happening during Chris Webber's Piston debut against Utah? He'll be coming off the bench for his first game, but eventually, he'll be the starting C alongside Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, & Rasheed Wallace. Can ya'll imagine that starting five? They're going to be as dangerous as Denver, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Pheonix, Utah, & Miami's starting five. Unfortunately, so much for the suppose to be Ben Wallace's replacement Nazr Mohammed. He's going to demand for a trade in a heartbeat because he wants a lot of playing time & he's obviously not going to get considering that the Piston's rotation will have Dale Davis, Jason Maxiell, & Antonio McDyess playing at PF/C.

i think c-webb will help the pistons offensively. he'll make 'sheed play his natural wing position. he can spread the floor and orchestrate the offense from the high post if flip saunders utilizes him in a motion or a princeton-type offense. the thing is, how much will he still have left in his tank come april? we saw a bit of that two playoffs ago against this piston team and he wasn't a factor. he's one of those players who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. will chauncey or flip be willing to tweak things to get him into their offense? finally, since his philly days he's always been a defensive liability. how are the pistons gonna deal with that?

Webb's been a defensive liablity his whole career, not just his Philly days. But I'm not really concerned about that. Since Ben first arrived here, we were able to defend better than anyone but couldn't score at all. We've had trouble defending and scoring this year so far. For a long time it was because we never had a real post presence. Webber answers a lot of questions. Coach Flip has spent his career devising a brilliant offensive system for the tools he has to work with, and hiding players who are a defensive liabilty in his zone. He's done a masterful job at both really. And in the new age of the NBA, zones DO work, I figure us to be fine defensively there. With a zone, we might ACTUALLY be able to stop some of the dribble penetration that has always cause us problems (see playoffs: Dwayne Wade, Tony Parker/Manu Ginobli). I think the Pistons will be just fine on defense this season.I think the Pistons will be deadly now from everywhere on the court on offense. I saw Chris be the center of what I call "two-man action" plays in his first game and get easy buckets for Rip (he missed his layup that normally would go), Chauncey (drilled the three), and Tayshaun (drilled a nice wide open jumper).Unless you have Shaq or Yao Ming on your team, there's no such thing as a good TRUE center in the league anymore. Ben Wallace isn't. He's a Dennis Rodman-type power forward, we got by and made do with what we had. As proven, a TRUE center, is not necessary really. Sheed and Chris will do a fair job of gobbling up rebounds. The both can score pretty much at-will from either block and hit jumpers when their game is on. Both can pass well, but Chris has exceptional vision for making plays. Chauncey can create off the dribble and play excellent pick n roll ball. With Rips constant motion, we can eat teams a live with by throwing it to Chris in the high post and let him make finds for Rip cutting to the basket. Tayshaun can create his own shot and score from anywhere on the court. The offense will be better now than it EVER has been... (I'm gonna bite my tongue but maybe better than the Bad Boys days...), best of yet, we still don't have ONE superstar (we have five), but we still will operate as a TEAM. You can't forget that has been our winning modus operandi anytime we have ever had a dominant squad.
