Patterson: If Martin Is Not Traded, "He's Really Going To Go Crazy"

Rocky Mountain News - Ruben Patterson had something to say about his former college and Nuggets teammate Kenyon Martin's unhappiness in Denver.

"I know Kenyon. He's not happy (in Denver). He told me after the season he wanted to go. If he's not gone, he's really going to go crazy," said Patterson after he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Joe Smith.

Asked for a response, Nuggets coach George Karl said, "Everybody is entitled to their opinion."

Well, I don't wanna see what else Kenyon is going to if he has already cussed out the coach. I think the nuggets are going to use him in getting either wells or harrington. The nuggets need to get rid of him now!!!

I think a team like the suns or someone would be good for him. Whichever team is going to run. He's really not that good of a player to me because all he can do is run the floor and catch lobs. He has no shot or plays true defense. So maybe the nuggets can get something out of him. Not neccessairily wells or harrington.

Well if K-mart doesn't going anywhere then they are just hurting their franchise. Why make a player stay there if he doesn't want to be there, and why hurt your franchise like that?

He may not want to stay but thats not his decision. George Karl isn't going to give him up unless he can get something more valuable and right now it doesnt seem like thats going to happen. Players play and coaches coach. KMart is stepping out of his role as a player by demanding to be traded.

It's not all George Karl's decision. Sometimes the GM will overule over the coach. I think George Karl wants him gone, because you can't have disrespect in the locker room and expect for your players to remain focus. George Karl isn't allowed to do what he wants to do in that locker room because K-mart is a distraction. I think the reason they have'nt made a move is because there are only a few teams in this league that K-mart can play good with because he is a run up and down the court; catch alley-hoops player. So I think that teams know how one dimensional K-mart and that's why they're not taking a risk with getting him.

Well you should but that's not always the case. Look at the situation in L.A. Phil Jackson wanted to coach shaq, but the gm wanted to keep kobe. So he gets some say, but the final decision is going to be what the gm wants.
