Hi, I am a faithful Denver fan and although my friends disagree with me, I think that Andre Miller is extremely overrated.
Although he is second in the league in assists, he is completely dependent on the performance of others! On the Miami Heat game, Melo and JR both had 35+ points and Andre had 20 assists. On the Mavericks game, melo and Jr struggled and Andre only had 2 assists. He also has a 76.6% Free throw percentage, which is unacceptable for a point guard!! He is a very overrated player and any point guard in the league could play for the nuggets and put up the same numbers. Any thoughts? ![]()

I don't think he's overrated. I still think he's one of the quality point guards out there. And speaking of assists, you do have to be dependent on others' performance, specifically, the others' ability to shoot the ball.
I think he's very unselfish on that team. He's been there long enough to know the talent around him that's why he doesn't score that much. But he usually steps up though when needed. Was he on Jason Terry that night? The only thing that I don't like about him is his defense.

Andre Miller had a real brick of a game tonight against the Wizards as the Nuggets were run out of the building despite Melo's 37. His turnovers and fouls are too high and he's not hitting squat lately. Nuggets fans must hope for an improvement as soon as possible in Andre Miller's game .

Well I know Philly has been in need of a pg but with the guys they have do they really think Andre Miller would change much?? I can't see him going to Denver just because him and Melo are 2 of the top scorers in the league and somebody would have to take a back seat. But if he was sent to Denver I guess they would give up Miller, possibly Boykins I'm not sure I just can't see the trade happening.

I'm a Sixer fan and I gotta tell you, I don't think Miller is over rated at all, he's pushing double digits and points in the all the games he's played in Philly so far, and the rest of the team seems to be playing well around him. Sixers were 0 for their last ten before he came, now there two out of three, I'll take it

I must agree. Andre is far from overrated. If anything, he doesn't get the right amount of respect and hes a true pg like that of a Raymond Felton or in the Mark Jackson mold. To the 76ers, his value will show even more than Denver seeing Philly doesn't have the ballhogs denver did. He'll rack up more assists off allep oops to Iggy and hell dish it to Korver on the outside. Much more unselfish player than AI.

I agree with meltinjohn. He would seem to fit better in that team since he's more of a team player unlike AI.

I think Iverson is underated when it comes to team play. Everyone continues to criticize him for his team play.. who has he played with that has made him want to pass? I mean the pass few years look who he was playing with while he was in Philly. Who was he going to pass the ball to Kevin Ollie??!! Guys like Andre aren't scorers he's never really had a team where there's even been a NEED for him to pass. Even when they went to the finals he played with guys like George Lynch and Tyrone Hill. Did you really expect them to take the scoring load off of AI? No I don't, but then you all like to say Miller is a team player. He's had to be a team player.. he played with Melo and Earl Boykins and Vashon Lenard and Marcus Camby and Nene. Iverson had 13 assist the other night without Melo.. looks like he's fitting in and being unselfish to me...y, because he had guys out there that could actually score better in 1 night than guys that he played with his WHOLE career in Philly. Miller has had a far better team when it comes to comparing him and Iverson.

Dude, that denver team is depleted. They only have Najera and Kleiza. How much different is that from what he had in Philly? I think this is just AI in a new city making people think hes changed man then hell revert back fast.

How does he have just Najera and Klezia when him and Boykins average over 20 together?? There's no way you can tell me that Kevin Ollie is better than Boykins. Najera is better than Ander IMO because he can give you a variety of points besides 80% dunks. Dalembert and Willie Green are developing but Dalembert is more of a defensive player. Demarr Johnson works a lot harder than Korver does all Korver does is spot up for three pointers. Demarr Johnson will run the floor for you and play some defense. They also have Klezia. This team is better than the Sixers without Smith, Camby, Nene, K-mart and Melo. He's expected to get Camby Smith and Melo back I'm not sure what's the status on K-mart and Nene. He already has a good team and with the addition of the players that he's missing right now Denver will be a tough force to handle... How this team is depleted and similar to the sorry teams he's played with idk. BTW I was more so speaking of just the reputation Iverson has of being unselfish in general not whether who has the better team.. and even if you want to say who has the better team the players he has in Denver are better than just about everyboody he's played with his whole career in Philly. Espically at least the past 3 years.

Some of that might be true but seeing you say its the last 3 yrs, anything from before that is better. Oh, Dalembert is better than Nene by far.
Boykins is a small man, hes good off the bench but not as a top scorer regardless if he gets a lot next to AI. I can see this being deep in talent when the toher guys get back but mark my words, there will be chaos. Only Riley and Phil Jackson could make this team co exist. George Karl had a declining GP and Sam Cassell before together but trust me, those egos are not like AI and Carmelo and JR Smith not to mention when K-Mart is healthy. Karls sonics were much more functional as a team and didn't have as many egos besides GP and Kemp but that was also a guard and a big man. Not the same here. |
