I found the Mavericks going to the Finals to be like a firework accdient: It looks pretty, but something bad happened. Dirk got as much star treatment a power forward could get. Doing it again would make it obvious. Now don't get me wrong, I like Dirk. I just could NOT see him being a superstar like he was last year. He got 26, almost 27 PPG. He got 26 the year before. THere is no way they he is getting better still, though. I don't know, just my opinion.

Completely agree on the first part...also Dirk will be this year on MVP Polls, he's the most determinant player, who shoots part of the important shoots, who rebounds 9 per game...Mavs won't be at Finals this year in my opinion, but he'll be there again

Well I said this before and I guess I will say it again, Dirk cant do it by himself, he needs other players to step up like Stack, Howard and Jet.

Dirk is a SS, but I dont care if your Mike Jordan, you still need a Pippin. I was pushing for the Mavs to go after K-Mart but it didn't happen, they did get some decent players, but nothing like K-Mart.

I dont know if they will get back to the finals, but if they stay healthy any thing can happen. B) :P

Dirk will be a dominant player for years to come. He's got the height of a center, he plays as a forward, and he's got the ball handling abilities and range of point guard.

I agree, but with all great players there is just a small window of time to get it done, I hope this year or next mavs will win a title.

Dirk definitely needs the team to make the finals. We shall see what happens.

I'd like to see the mavs take home a title this year, but I just don't see it happening. As far as Dirk winning the MVP, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

That would be awesome if they took home the final, but I agree. I do not see it happening either unfortunately.

The Mavericks have a great team, but now I'm hoping they don't win the title, I'm a sixers fan and one of the draft picks they got in the Allen Iverson trade belonged to Dallas, and I'd like to see philly end up with a higher pick. Dirk can take the title next year!

It would be cool if Dallas won the title. I remember when they were a poor team for a long time.

I vaguely remember that. Michael Jordan was in his prime when I was in high school.
