Dallas News - The Dallas Mavericks reportedly considered the idea of signing Bonzi Wells, as the free agent struggled to find a suitor this offseason, but the presence of Maurice Ager out of Michigan State allowed them to steer clear of the former member of the Kings, Grizzlies and Blazers.

"I've always tried to be aggressive," Ager said Sunday. "If you're tentative, you're not going to play as well. We lift a lot of weights at Michigan State. You got to be tough. And that toughness has helped me get to this level. Honestly, I like going to the basket. Sometimes I'll settle for the 3. But my game is driving the paint."

Man, that is a hard one to call. Ager was a steal in the later part of the 1st round, but like all rookies, it will take some time to get his game up to NBA speed. I think that I would have tryed to get Bonzi for a year or two if for no other reason then to keep him away from other team in the west. after that Ager will be ready. B)

I think when you get a kid like that who has gotten alot of experience in a great program, you gotta throw him right in the fire because sitting on the bench for 2 seasons could kill his confidence and ultimately his career. When it's a strong-built tough kid who plays very agressive, like Ager, there's no reason no to.

Well we all love Mo in big D, but right now we are all about trying to win a title, Bonzi would have been great because he has playoff experience and he is tuff as nails. I cant see any reason why we couldn't have had both, other then maybe Bonzi's money.
