There has been a chainging of the guard in Big D, this is not your Daddys Mavs, Avery Johnson is the new Head Coach and Nellie is off to Golden State. With more talent than ever before, the Mavs will be hard to beat. of course there will be some top notch competitors in the west, like the Spurs, Suns, ect. and all of them has added more talented players to their line up, but I think the Mavs did not go into the off-season licking their wounds and whining about the bad calls in the Finals, NOPE they got right back in the saddle and made some trades that will improve their roster of players and also found some pretty good looking rookies as well. In my mind I think that the Mavs have one of the deepest benches in the NBA. I know that there are no guarantees and anything can happen in in the NBA, but as long as the Mavs have AJ and the Dirknator, I have to say WILL BE BACK.

Excellent point Dogs, your very astute and informative observations of one of the top contenders in the west is right-on. It is to early to tell which teams will be considered to be the Power-House out of their divisions, but from my humble and unbiased opinion I think that it will come right down to the Pistions and the Mavs in the finals.
 B) ;) :P

I was just kidding guys, but it sounds good to me.

You know, for a minute there, I thought you were trippin.

Hey, Pistons vs. Mavs sounds good to me. As long as the Pistons win, of course.

Yeah man I was just havin some fun, I guess the Mav board doesn't get looked at a lot on this forum, so I thought I would fart around alittle. Realy I like the Pistion's, but losing Big Been will leave a he!! of a hole in the paint. what did the Pistions do to fill his shoes? B)

I don't think they'll make it either. A lot of teams in the Western Conference have beefed up their rosters during the offseason, so it'll be tough for Dallas to come out on top. Dallas will always be an outside shooting team & if a great defensive team like San Antonio, Dallas, Miami, & Denver can take that away from them, most teams will win because their low post defense's average at best. The only guys on their team who're effective on the defensive end are Desagna Diop & Josh Howard. Their defense's a lot better than when Steve Nash was there without a doubt, but they've still got a long way to go to improve upon that & Avery Johnson will definitely show them the correct way to play some team defense. It also depends on if Dirk's leadership qualities will remain the same throughout all of this season.

No way Bro, It may not be the Mavs, but it will not be the Suns because that Run&Gun stuff will not get you into the finals.

Do you think that just because the Suns didn't have Amare active when the Mavs beat them in the WCFs, that he was the only reason why? no way man, It is their system. The Spurs beat them two years ago in the WCFs when the Suns were full strength, It is because they dont play good D and that is the bottom line.

The reason I say this is because the Mavs had the same system for years and it never worked, we would play a team like SA and get our butts kicked. Cuban finally woke up and smelled the Coffee and dumped
that style of BB, hired Avery Johnson and let Nellie go to GS.

BTW, I would like to see KG and the wolfs get into the Finals before the Suns, But that is just me. B) ;) :( :o
