Boston Herald - The Celtics were able to get guard Delonte West back on the court from injury for the first time yesterday, which suprised coach Doc Rivers.
?I was surprised,? he said. ?Eddie (Lacerte, the trainer) told me before practice, literally right before. (West) practiced for about an hour and 15 minutes. We let him go through some physical stuff, but not total scrimmages. But he did get in some action, like we went halfcourt at the beginning of practice and he was able to do that. He looked great. I think he?ll practice the next day or two pretty much full." ?We allowed him to play early on, and because he was moving so well, I think Eddie made the decision to let him do a little more. And then when we got into the really physical scrimmaging, Eddie told him that was enough." ?So he was kind of eased in and he looked absolutely great.? Said West, ?I?m just trying to keep the soreness from coming back. We?re ahead of schedule for where we thought we were going to be at this time. I?m excited. I?m just trying not to do too much too early.? |
