Dajuan Wagner waiting to hear back from Sixers after tryout

Former Camden High star Dajuan Wagner said he tried out with the Sixers last Thursday but hasn't heard from the team yet.

"I'm waiting to hear from them," Wagner said last night after playing in the championship game of the John Rankin-Michael Anderson League at Drexel. "I don't know if my agent [Leon Rose] has heard from them or not. He told me a couple of other [NBA] teams are interested but he didn't say who."

Last night, Game defeated Camden, 138-125 before a sellout crowd at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Cuttino Mobley (Clippers) led Game with 36 points, followed by Hakim Warrick (Grizzlies), who had 25, and Alvin Williams (Raptors) , who added 16. Rick Brunson (Rockets) dished 12 assists.

Wagner led Camden with 43 points and Terquin Mott had 36.

The 6-1 Wagner was with for the Cleveland Cavaliers for three seasons but played only 102 games due to knee injuries and severe colitis. He had his colon removed last October.

The Cavs declined to exercise Wagner's $3.4 million contract option for 2005 and he didn't play last season. Now, however, he said he's ready to return to the NBA.

"I'm back," he said. "Just being on the court is great. I'm ready to score or do whatever it takes [to make an NBA team].

That's good for him.
